Aaliyah was a top R&B singer, actress and a model from Brooklyn, New York. She started her career early in her teens with R.Kelly as her mentor and she accompanied Gladys Knight's concerts. Later on, she accomplished various co-operations with famous artists such as Missy Eliot and Timbaland, who gave her career a big boost. She launched several top hits such as "Try again" and "Rock the Boat" which sold many millions of copies worldwide. She also starred in movies; "Romeo must Die" and "Queen of the damned" becoming famous and beloved. In 2001, at the age of 22 she died tragically in a plane crash with eight more people, after filming the "Rock the boat" video clip in the Bahamas. She continued selling millions of copies of her 3 albums worldwide after her death and she is claimed to be among the most popular R&B singers according to Billboard's lists.
